Yes, you must be registered with HMRC specifically to claim Gift Aid

HMRC Charities Reference Number, Unique Customer Account Number, Regulator, details of authorised official, username, password for HMRC account 

Every donation which has had a Gift Aid declaration can be claimed for at a rate of 25%. This can increase if the donor is a higher tax-payer.

Typically, you can expect to receive funds from HMRC within 3 weeks, or 1 week if you have previously claimed.

DonorCloud does not currently charge anything for this service.

You should receive an email from HMRC confirming that a submission has been successful. HMRC only accepts complete applications and will not accept any submission with errors. DonorCloud checks all submissions before submitting and notifies you if anything has gone wrong.
